It seems this place was one of the more important areas of the medieval town of Provins. The seems to be a lot of important looking structures. We didn’t have a tour guide with us but it seems we have stumbled into one of the more famous structures. Just a stone’s throw away from the Caesar’s Tower, is another significant structure. The Saint Quiriace Church can be easily seen from the top of the Caesar’s Tower and in far it is debatable which one is taller. The church here seemed to be far larger than the town needs as Provins is a small town. However, it can be said that Provins was most probably busier back then than it is now.

Typical of churches, there is a small plaza right in front of the church and it also serves as a park for the people. It does seem to be a pleasant place to hang out in. There were numerous benches around the park and it would be very nice to sit here and read a book. There was an intricate metal cross in front of the church facing the tower. The church was built by the orders of the count Henry the Liberal. It was through his efforts that the church became what it is today. It is surprisingly old as it is around 800 years old. It doesn’t really show from the outside.
