The way up to the top of the Caesar’s Tower was surprisingly narrow and dark. It was so narrow that only one person can use the stairs at a time. I had a bag on my back and it was so narrow that I had to carry the bag so I would be able to fit. It would be troublesome if there was someone else going down the stairs when you are on your way up. This doesn’t seem to be the case as there was another flight of stairs for the direction going down, though it was a bit easy to miss. The reward for climbing is a view of the medieval town of Provins. The top was surprisingly busy, and I meant that it wasn’t empty at all, when compared to the previous floor.
There was a 360 view of the town and rightly so since you need to be able to see all angles to be able to defend the town. The Caesar’s Tower seems to be in the center of the town and it is in the perfect position to be the lookout spot. The top floor was slightly brighter but it was still dark. You can hardly see the details of the roof beyond the supports of the roof. The star of the show here is certainly the view. I took some time to admire the view of this charming medieval town.
