Tower at the Performance Area in Provins
I didn’t expect that we would end up watching one of these “cultural” performances here at Provins. I have for the most part avoided these kinds of things as I think there were very touristy. I think I still think so, but I didn’t expect it to be entertaining. The La Légende des Chevaliers featured men and women in medieval costumes and acting out a story, as you might have surmised from the title of the performance, it is the legend for the chevaliers or knights. The performers were doing tricks and stunts during the performance including ones with spears and swords. All the while the audience really got into the story as they were cheering on the protagonists and booing the antagonists.
Up Close with the Beautiful Princess in Provins
I was surprised that I enjoyed the performance as much as I did. Yes, it is for tourist, but it can be quite enjoyable as well. After the performance, the performers approached the audience for some photo taking. Most of the kids loved this and they got their chance to see these heroes up close. They also brought their horses with them and it was a good chance for the kids to get closer to the animals. It really is an education tour for the kids, even the grown up kids as they get to know more about live in the medieval ages. It may be a show but it is still informative and enjoyable.
