The Medieval Town of Provins is a UNESCO World Heritage listed town. It is a small but charming town. Perhaps what I like best is the seeming lack of mass tourism here. I do not know if it is because there is nothing to see here or we just got here early. We were on our way to the tourist information center as we walked through the medieval town. A lot of the houses here seems to be quite old. Although they are old, they seem to be still in use. The architecture of the town seems to be one of the attractions here as it feels like a nice little French town, much like how I imagine it from books. It would appear that we are correct in our wanderings as there were maps along the way to help us get to the important sites.
Already lacking tourists wandering the streets, there was also a lack of town folk here. It seems that most of the people are indoors. The town is located in a small elevation and we find the road slowly climbing. There were parts that seemed to be quite steep that the photos would already look strange because of the steep angle of the main road. This was no dirt road though, as the streets here were well paved and well maintained. In fact, there was some repair work being done nearby.
