It has been a busy day for us, we traveled to the outskirts of Paris to the palace of Versailles where we what one of the most incredible palaces I have ever seen. It is considered one of the largest palaces in the world and our legs would attest to that. After that we took a pleasant river tour along the historic River Seine where we got to see numerous beautiful and historic buildings which we built along the banks of the famed river. The last activity for the day is dinner. We didn’t have much planned for dinner this time so we decided to have dinner somewhere near our apartment. There seemed to be enough restaurants to choose from hopefully, we would be able to find one.
We were probably of the same mind when we were choosing where to eat. As tourists, we wanted something French, but we didn’t know anything about French food apart from French fries. Oh, wait. We were basically checking out the menus of the restaurants which we saw and not knowing anything better, we checked out the interiors of the restaurant. Not knowing any better, we just entered that one. One thing is for sure, eating out in Paris is much more expensive than Barcelona. I don’t know what is good French food so I just ordered whatever looked French. I had some filet mignon, which turned out to be pork. I always thought that filet mignon was always beef and I was insisting to my friends that it was supposed to be beef. Maybe it is a French thing. The dish wasn’t ground breaking and it wasn’t that bad either. I think I needed to used to eating this kind of food more.
N.B. Pardon my ignorance, it seems filet mignon in France is indeed supposed to be pork.
I had to go back to the restaurant after going back to the apartment seems she lost her train ticket. It wasn’t cheap after all. After tracing our footsteps and picking up multiple train tickets along the way we got back to the restaurant. Fortunately, the ticket was there behind one of our seats. The restaurant was already being cleaned and we were fortunate enough to still find it. Staff was very helpful in trying to look for it. Kudos to them!
