My companions finally got “palaced” out at the Palace of Versailles. I think the place was so overwhelming that you get tired of being impressed. It is true, too much of a good thing can be bad even in tourist spots. Make no mistake, the Palace of Versailles is indeed very impressive and every room will leave you amazed at the incredible decors. If you get tired of seeing the over-the-top palace, you can go wander in the vast gardens of palace until your legs get sore. For a less stressful visit to a royal residence, the Grand Trianon and the Petit Trianon are perfect. Each of them have their own little gardens. The visit to the Palace of Versailles was an incredible look into the lives of the kings of France. We didn’t plan on staying the entire day in the palace. We made our way out and back to the train station.
There was no shuttle service to bring visitors to the train station and back, perhaps it is because it was already near enough. At that time, there weren’t a lot of people heading back to Paris. Which is good. I have a feeling we didn’t really explore the palace in its entirety as my friends were already tired. Maybe someday if I need to bring someone here again. Perhaps someone with more stamina to explore all of the park. We took the train back to the city of Paris and we decided to go explore the area of the River Seine. The sight of the Eiffel Tower never ceases to amaze me. I still find it hard to believe that I was seeing it right in front of me.
