Thankfully, the Grand Trianon was not as massive at the main chateau. One could probably go around the entire place in fifteen minutes. This wasn’t really meant to be a place to impress visitors, although the place is already nice enough. The main purpose of this place was to get away from it all. It is a less formal setting to give the king and his guests a little more breathing room. That is not to say that the Grand Trianon is not without its own facilities. Just as the Palace of Versailles has the vast gardens of Versailles outside the palace grounds, the Grand Trianon also has its own gardens.
The Grand Trianon is already tucked into the northwestern corner of the gardens of Versailles and it is pretty much isolated from the rest of the palace. Being a mini palace, it came with a garden of its own. It is no slouch either. The gardens of Grand Trianon were just as well kept as their larger counterparts outside. The garden here seems to be just as proportionally large as the gardens of Versailles when compared to the main palace. At least they are consistent. We didn’t bother with exploring the garden anymore. You could say we have already grown tired of the palace. The garden seems to be a nice place to take a breather.
