We suddenly found ourselves outside the main chateau building of the Palace of Versailles. It was already lunch time and we were hungry. We remembered that there was a small cafe in the palace so we went back to grab some lunch. You could say that this place has a monopoly on food as it was the only one here. If you didn’t like the food here you go hungry. Actually the food wasn’t very appetizing either. Unsurprisingly, it was mainly sandwiches here so I just randomly picked a sandwich and paid for it. Considering the number of people there were at this place, the queue was very fast. I brought my sandwich outside to the right of the chateau to find a place to sit and eat my sandwich.
The sandwich wasn’t anything to write home about, I don’t like sandwiches as I prefer “real” meals but who am I to complain. A flight of stairs behind the chateau served as our dining table and it seems that we were not the only ones who had that idea. Other people didn’t seem to be hungry yet and they were queuing up for something. It seems that it is a queue to ride on a train. The palace grounds has a train service to ferry visitors from one place to another. The palace grounds are large enough to warrant something like this. We will probably use natural transportation to go around though, it would be a shame if we miss anything along the way.
