I had mixed feelings when were finally outside the palace building. Here is it called the chateau, though the word “chateau” doesn’t seem to imply the size and scale of the word “palace”. It was disappointing that the tour of the chateau was over. We were led to the main square fronting the chateau. One the other hand, I was sort of relieved since too much of a good thing may not be that good after all. It was a series of beautiful rooms one after the other and it is just incredible to see such beauty all in one go. I found myself walking through the room marveling at the room then continue on to another very similar to it. The kings of France surely put a lot of resources into making a chateau as magnificent as this one.
By this time there were already a lot of people here are the palace grounds. There was still a very long queue of visitors waiting to go in the palace. Most of the traffic slows inside the chateau, as this is where most of the awesome stuff is, not to mention the halls here were not designed to handle that much traffic that people have to queue to move from one room to another. Outside is a very different scene as the palace grounds are very large. It was a very nice day and the sun was reflecting off the golden trimmings of the chateau. It seems there renovation work is also ongoing as there are parts of the chateau which don’t seem to be as shiny as the others.
