Beautiful Art Adorning one of the Rooms of the Palace of Versailles
The Palace of Versailles is truly an impressive work of art. There were several waves of construction at the Versailles most of the time coinciding with a new monarch. It seems it is never a king’s habit to just reuse something from the previous king. They always decide to build and expand the palace even more. I don’t think it is that practical anymore especially if you need to go from one end of the palace to another. Then again, that is never the king’s problem since it is the people seeing him who need to move from one part of the palace to another. They can even have official work done from the royal bedroom. This would probably make sense if the king was already very old and unable to walk very far.
You Need to Look Up to See This
One thing that was consistent among the waves of construction is that most of the designs of the new structures were just as opulent as the old structure. With the entire resources of the country at their disposal, it is no wonder the king managed to build such a large palace. I don’t know how effective this palace actually was other than to tire lost people out, but it is sure to elicit oohs and aahs from anyone fortunate enough to visit this place back then. These days the tourist masses make their way to the palace in the hope of catching part of the former glory of the palace.
