Not a Painting, but Part of the Ceiling at the Palace of Versailles
The layout of the palace of Versailles so far was quite straightforward. So far we have been walking along the same hall which goes through several doors. I think they are officially called apartments, but they don’t seem to be apartments in the modern sense. For one thing, it is a bit strange that there is a common hall where anyone can just pass through. Yes, they do have doors but you need to go through the same door to access the rest of the apartments. I would have though that it would be better if the individual apartments have a divider between the hall and the apartment itself. Then again, that would have deprived the residents of sunlight.
If Only My Fireplace was This Nice
Each time we enter a new rooms it seems to be even better than the last one. I can’t remember how many times I oohed and aah-ed each time I get into a new room. The design of the individual apartment are truly magnificent and probably meant to impress people. I don’t think I can blame any visiting monarch for feeling insecure if they see something like this. What has since become one the largest palaces in the world is certainly deserving of its fame. I’m really glad that I got the opportunity to visit this place.
