I didn’t really see a lot of photos of the Palace of Versailles when I was doing my research for this trip. I think there was no point doing that since the tour of the palace was pretty much set. You will most likely follow the same path as everyone else. The only difference would be the speed at which you go through the palace. Looking at the number of people in the palace, it doesn’t seem that we would be able to move fast at all. Everything starts as soon as you get the audio guide. I can decide to listen to is to better understand what it is you are looking at, if you have the time, it is highly advisable to use the audio guide.
Most of the exploration was on the second floor of the palace. We were led a large bright room. There was a group of people crowded around a door. It seems that people are not allowed beyond that point. It turns out to be the chapel of Versailles. This chapel was built by Louis XIV and it is an absolute masterpiece. The chapel is actually two stories high and the ceiling is probably the main attraction here at is has beautiful paintings on it. Much like a Sistine Chapel type of room. Painting on the ceiling seems to be a very popular thing that time as I had already seen this in Spain. The chapel here is the fifth and last chapel to be built in the palace. It is dedicated to Saint Louis patron saint of the Bourbons.
