Avenue des Champs-Élysées

Want to Take This Out for a Spin in Paris?

The Champs-Élysées is probably the most famous street in all of Paris. More formally known as the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, it has its roots in the 1600s and it was continuously redesigned on both ends of the avenue to what it is right now. Even back in the 1800s, it was already known as a fashionable street where cafes and shops abound. It is very interesting to see such a street with status preserved for that a long. I like how the street is set up. Although it is not a purely pedestrian street. The avenue is wide enough to accommodate wide promenades on both sides of the avenue. The weather wasn’t exactly that good since there were intermittent showers. This forced us to go in the shopping centers along the street.

Lots of People Along the Champs-Élysées

It is obvious how popular this place is as there were a lot of people here. It wasn’t limited to tourists as a lot of locals seem to be here. It seemed pretty safe here. I am wary about popular places as there would always be undesirable elements in such places. There were a few people trying to make use of the large traffic of this street. I noticed a unique vehicle which is basically a three wheels covered bicycle which you can rent. I think it is a nice experience to go around Paris like that but I don’t want to worry about where to park my vehicle. Additionally, this part of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées is home to what is one of a driver’s worst nightmare – the roundabout at the Arc de Triomphe.
