While I wasn’t exactly impressed with Paris owing to that very stressful welcome we had at the train station. We managed to have lunch and let my feelings settle down. We asked the Chinese owner of the La Royale restaurant which was had our late lunch at for pointers on where to go and how to get there. It was quite late in the afternoon and I don’t think we would be able to do any real exploration. We were told to just keep walking down the street and we would find the metro station so we can continue on our exploration. Along the way, I noticed that Paris seems to be quite cramped. There are a lot of apartments here but most of them are low rise, not doubt a lot of them are very small as well. However, the buildings themselves look very attractive already. It was almost as attractive as Barcelona’s buildings.
From the metro we made our way to the Opera metro station which seems to be a popular place. We ended up in what appears to be a major shopping district. I wasn’t surprised since my friends have been looking to go shopping at some European brand name shops for a while already. I don’t think these will be any cheaper than what they have seen. However, I think they might find stuff which you can’t find elsewhere. Here, the buildings were even more impressive. A lot of these already look like palaces I would see in books. It would be very nice to walk here at night. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very cooperative and it started to rain heavily. We took shelter in some shops until the rains died down. We would spend the rest of the afternoon checking out shops for any bargains.
