We were disappointed with not being able to go in the Casa Batlló of Antoni Gaudí because of the long queue outside. The bizarre looking apartment building is part of the Works of Antoni Gaudí UNESCO World Heritage site and it is one of Barcelona’s top attractions. Actually, most of the attractions of Barcelona have something to do with Antoni Gaudí. I gained an appreciation of the design of Antoni Gaudí as they are truly ahead of his time. Even now you would struggle to find someone who designs buildings like that. Most of the time, the idea gets thrown out the window the moment it is proposed. Anyway, we were out to look for another building which was supposed to be also designed by Antoni Gaudí. It was supposed to be nearby so it should not be that difficult to find.
Again, we were led the wrong way because of our map reader’s poor map reading skills. This seems to be happening very often, but I think my companions like to read maps and figure out where things are. I don’t think I would do a bad job of reading the map, but I just leave them to it. I was enjoying the sights as we walk on the streets of Barcelona. Barcelona is quite a stylish city, perhaps owing to its reputation for art from Antoni Gaudí’s works, there are some interestingly shaped buildings. We happened to run into one of these buildings which happen to feature a rather unique design on top of the building. It seemed to be just a mess of wires laid on top of the building and was pronounced art. I don’t like that one at all and I don’t understand how the building owners do. It looks more like a tangled fishing line rather than art. Either way, it is their building.
