From the viewing deck at the Rambla Vella. We can already see our destination. The Tarragona Railway Station is still some distance away but we can already see it. At least we didn’t get lost trying to look for it. It was a also a pleasant surprise to discover the viewing deck here. We got a nice view of the sea here at Tarragona and I think it is a fitting sendoff for our visit to the historic city of Tarraco. The viewing platform was surprisingly high as we had to walk down a hill to get back to down.
Along the way down one of our companions was complaining of painful feet. I think it was a new pair of shoes and it wasn’t really seasoned. She was able to limp here way back to the railway station much to her relief. The railway station at Tarragona wasn’t really very busy. The platform there was too small to accomodate everybody so you just need to pay attention to which train you are taking. There is an underpass for passenger to access the train platforms. You can’t have people just crossing the rails, right? One Chinese lady asked us for directions but we weren’t sure either. I’m quite wary of people who approach you in these kinds of places and in general I try to avoid them.
