Despite its size the Casa Canals doesn’t really go very deep. It really feels like a very nice house. It is so nice that it once played host to the Spanish monarchy. This was probably way before the time of hotels, which have sprouted here in Tarragona in recent years. We were done exploring the house part of Casa Canals and we were off to what appears to be roof deck of Casa Canals. The house here isn’t really very tall but they built a roof deck nonetheless. As you might expect, there is a small garden here on top. It isn’t really very pretty at all, which was surprising considering how nice the house is.
We entered the garden area to see what is interesting here and we found a flight of stairs leading up. I didn’t seem to be off limits to visitors so we proceeded. It wasn’t exactly very welcoming either since it was dark and wet. The merely led us to a viewing area where we can see parts of Tarragona. As I mentioned previously, the Casa Canals isn’t really a very tall structure so there wasn’t much to see here. There was a park across the street and it didn’t seem to be that pretty. The sea, however, was visible from this place and it would probably look better on a clearer day. It is a pity that the roof didn’t get the same amount of attention that the interior of the house did.
