View of Montserrat on the Way Down
I spent a few hours on top of Montserrat and although we didn’t really get to visit all the important sites here, I still thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The mountain was really very beautiful and it was not a surprise that the monks chose to build a monastery here. Although, It thought it would have been very difficult to build the monastery in the first place because of the hostile terrain here. Nowadays, it is no long as hostile as there are now restaurants and hotels for the visitors.

The queue going back down the mountain wasn’t a long as the one going up. The cable car was barely filled up when we were able to board and we managed to get some nice spots. You can much more of the mountain here and it is really very pretty. It is a pity that we didn’t have blue skies here as it would have made for a very pretty picture. It is good that the cable car station was right beside the railway station, and perhaps it was designed that way. We won’t have to worry about getting back to Barcelona.
