It seems we will be leaving soon as we won’t have time to go the hiking route. I would have wanted that but it seems my friend isn’t handling the cold air very well. Actually, it wasn’t even that cold but I think she just wasn’t used to this even with a winter jacket. So we were just walking around the area around Montserrat. There were some areas near the car park where you can get excellent views of the mountain and beyond. I like to see these type of scenery and it is nice that Montserrat has a variety of trails to follow for this.
While not exactly the main trail, we managed to find one behind the car park and it leads to a few view points along the way. The weather was already very fickle here as it was threatening to rain. From the viewpoint, you can see other trails which dot the mountain. It seems that these are used a lot during Holy Week and think they contain the stations of the cross. I have seen these kinds of trails in the Philippines and I think these are similar to them. It would be nice to complete a stations of the cross but my companions won’t be terribly interested in that.
