When I entered the chamber where the Virgin of Montserrat was housed. I was amazed at the beauty of the chamber. It was covered in gold and beautiful art all over the place. The Virgin itself it protected from the elements by a see through glass house leaving only one hand exposed for veneration. The chamber itself isn’t very big and it can only fit around four people at one time. It is so small that you can’t even afford to have someone stay there to keep the traffic moving.
I was also impressed with the location of the image of the Virgin of Montserrat. It seemed to be a the very center of the church, and it is only right that she be put here since the basilica was built in her honor. From here you can see the rest of the church. I quickly took a few photos from this point of view since it is not very often that I would be able to get to this part of any church. Outside my friends were already waiting for me. I am quite sure they were bored throughout this event as they weren’t Catholics. I was thrilled to have the chance to venerate the Virgin of Montserrat.
