I was surprised to see how much development happened at Montserrat. The monastery complex was built on top of a beautiful mountain and has been the refuge of monks seeking to be away from it all. With the advent of mass tourism, it is inevitable that tourism’s perks come with it. Hotels and restaurants have sprouted here in Montserrat. There seem to be quite a few of them but thankfully, they don’t really stand out that much. This still makes for a nice visit while at the same time still have the convenience of readily available food and lodging whenever you need it. As a matter of fact, I was already hungry and it seemed like it was a good time for us to be having lunch.
The idea was to have a slightly earlier lunch so that we can just continue on our exploring of Montserrat uninterrupted. There were a few places to choose from and we we probably ended up at the most affordable one, looked like a food court where you point at what you want and it will be given to you. Much like the ones in Asia but a bit classier. I had some random fried stuff, which wasn’t really that outstanding. My friends also had similar stuff and didn’t really have any strong opinions on them. I can’t even name the food which I had there, anyway, it is time for us to explore.
