When I was planning the trip to Spain, specifically Barcelona, I was pretty much using the UNESCO world heritage sites as the anchors for my visit. Places like the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona are must visits, though I still have to go inside. As for the others, I have already lined them up for visiting. It is fortunate that my companions we okay to go to these places. One of the places which wasn’t a world heritage site, I could be deserving though, which was one my list was Montserrat. This is basically as mountaintop monastery but the location is what attracted me to this place.
The next day, we woke up early to catch a train to this mountaintop monastery. This time I was bringing my winter jacket, it was still a bit chilly at sea level in Barcelona, but I bet it will be downright cold on top of the mountain. First things first is we need to get to the train which will bring us to the that place. The Espanya station is the way to go, as this is where the R5 train will be taken. It took us a bit of time to find the line since Espanya Station was huge. The train will be heading in the direction of Manresa. The station didn’t look crowded either hopefully it is because we are just early.
