We eventually ran out of La Rambla to wander in. It wasn’t that long after all, I think have been to much longer shopping streets that this one. Although, this was far more interesting. There were buskers on the streets and it was interesting to see them perform. All this time I was very mindful of our stuff since this is quite a well known pickpocket area. Visitors here need to be mindful as large crowds tend to attract these kinds of people. At the end of the road we came to a major roundabout which signaled the start of the Port of Barcelona area.
The roundabout featured an impressive monument which feature characters related to local history, none of which I am familiar with. The basement of the monument was curiously turned into a tourist center. It seems that there is an entrance to pay to see some ruins which are here, I wasn’t interested in that. There were the requisite souvenir shops here but I didn’t really care either. Further on the area was the waterfront, it seems to be a very lively area as there was stalls and eating places here. Off to the left is the Port de Barcelona, which is an impressive looking building. It was already closed when we arrived there so we just took photos. The sun was just nice and it was shining on the building itself.
