The Museu d’Història de la Ciutat of Barcelona was very interesting. It is probably the first time where I actually paid attention to the audio guide. The ruins of ancient Barcelona are on display here and the audio guide help to paint a prettier picture of what used to be here. There were descriptions on the functions of the rooms which were unearthed here as well as what people did here back then. It was interesting to draw analogies between now and then. It is nice to see how much we have progressed as well as how much we have stayed the same.
Some of the sites here left traces of wine making as well as some preparation of food. It is amazing how much information was deduced based traces of chemicals found here. It is too bad that not much of the structure was left other than the foundation. It seems that part of this was also some sort of temple or church. Small LCD screens are there to help you visualize how it must have looked like back then. Even then, the place seemed to be quite well off, as traces of luxury items have been discovered here. They might not have our modern conveniences but they still managed to live quite comfortably.
