I was pleasantly surprised to be able to reach the top of the Alcazar de Segovia. It took me a while to actually get to the top since there was apparently a large group of students coming down. Just when you thought that the stream of students is finished when you would start hearing noises from the stairs again. It is best to wait for people to come down since the stairs can be quite narrow. This is no problem for not very big people like me but for larger folk it might cause problems to both parties. Anyway, I finally reached the top of the Alcazar and I was glad to see there there weren’t any people up there.
It seems that the students hogged the entire top of the Alcazar de Segovia all to themselves. Now that they are gone, there wasn’t anyone up here anymore. It is also possible that any people who wished to go down the stairs couldn’t do so either until the entire troop went down. From here you get a sweeping view of the Old Town of Segovia. I didn’t realize how far the main town was from the alcazar until I saw the town. The cathedral of Segovia rises like a mountain in the middle of town. It is actually a very pretty sight since there were also mountains behind the town. If you pay more attention to the mountains, they are still snow caps on these mountains and they make for a lovely sight. It is too bad the town is slightly backlit and I can’t get that much detail from the town. This is one of those times where a zoom lens would help me immensely. Alas, I only have a short lens, I would need to save up for that sometime.
