The next stop in my exploration of the Old Town of Segovia is the Alcazar of Segovia. The alcazar is the castle of the town and it is located in a strategic part of the town. It can see far into the horizon which makes it good for defense. However, it is very same location that makes it a good viewing area for the surroundings of the town. The Spanish countryside is quite scenic and Segovia is in a nice location with the nearby snow capped Guadarrama mountains looming in the horizon. There was a park near the alcazar and it also provides a good viewing area.
The viewing area here isn’t really that high but it was already good enough to see much of the countryside here. The area here isn’t really very highly populated as most of the town is behind the walls of the town. There are some houses here but most of them were small ones. From here you can also see one of the more well known churches in Segovia, the Iglesia de la Vera Cruz or the Church of the True Cross. I won’t have time to visit this place, I guess this is as close as I can get to this church.
