After the altar area of the Cathedral of Segovia. There wasn’t really much to see here. The altar, although it was nice, was surprisingly modest by medieval standards. It would have been interesting had the original cathedral was still here perhaps it would have been more majestic. However, I couldn’t find information about the older church except that it was destroyed in a rebellion sometime back. The church now occupies a different location from the old one as the old one didn’t have a very good location when it came to defending it. I finally got out of the church to continue on the rest of my exploration of the Old Town of Segovia.

It happened to pass by what seems to be a large open area “behind” the church. As it turns out, it was actually the front of the church. The plaza here in the front of the church is closed off. From the looks of it, the front of the church is under renovation. There were some scaffolds near the bell tower but there weren’t any construction workers, probably because it was either early or it was a public holiday. Anyway, I still managed to get my camera to peek through the gate and take some photos.
