I sort of underestimated the size and the amount of exhibits here at the National Museum of Ireland. I probably would need an entire afternoon to properly visit the museum. Unfortunately, time was something I don’t really have a lot of. We were dropped at the museum at around four in the afternoon which doesn’t really give me a lot of time to look at the exhibits. I did try to make an effort to go to the other exhibit areas in the museum. I was expecting that this musuem, being called the National Museum of Ireland, would focus focus Irish artifacts. However, there was one part of the museum which was dedicated to Egypt. It seems that no self respecting museum should not have a mummy exhibit.
There were a few sarcofagi at the small exhibit area but these were stuff that wasn’t really new to me. I remember visiting a mummy exhibit in Singapore and I thought it was fascinating. Strangely enough, there weren’t a lot of people looking around in this area. Perhaps this was one of the less visited areas in the museum as I think it is a bit isolated. There were the requisite stone tablets and jewelry from ancient Egypt. I would love to be able to visit Egypt but with the current political turmoil there, I don’t think it is the best time to go.
