My schedule got messed up that day. I was planning to go out of town that day but the tour that I was interested in was not available or it had already left. I did get to sign up for the next day, and I thought it was a good enough deal. There are numerous tour agencies in Dublin city center, it would be difficult to miss them. The tour I paid for will take us out of town and last a good part of the day. I doesn’t come with lunch though, so that one would have to come later. O’Connell Street was the meeting place but it was to be at 7:45 in the morning. It is difficult enough to get up in this kind of weather but I also found out that buses do not operate that early on the weekends.
Fortunately, John of Annagh House already knew about this and made arrangements for a taxi to fetch me the next morning. I was thinking that I was already trying to save money on transportation when I suddenly needed to take a cab to the city center. It only proves that even the best laid plans may fail. The meeting point was at the AIB Bank brand at O’Connell Street. It was just about sunrise and there were already some people waiting along the street. I wasn’t sure if they were on the same trip as I was but they were also looking around for other tour mates. I approached them and I confirmed that they were waiting for the same tour. After about thirty minutes of waiting, the bus came and we hurriedly sat in the warm bus. It was about an hour’s ride, maybe I could get some sleep.
