The Temple Bar are is confusingly an area which is famous for its pubs. True enough, there seems to be a pub wherever you turn. Prior to coming to Dublin, I was warned about how Dublin has a stench and it is most evident in the Temple Bar area because people tend to get drunk in this area. I was a bit apprehensive in coming to this area but it turned out to be quite okay. Perhaps it was because there was still light outside. However, there was no smell of this stench anywhere, perhaps the rain the previous day already washed everything out.
I was walking in the area when I ran into a pub which was confusingly called the Temple Bar. From my understanding, Temple Bar name of the area came first and this bar got its name from the area. Got that? No? Neither did I. I could imagine the confusion this would cause when you say to meet up at Temple Bar. As you might expect, this is probaby the most well known of the pubs here. I didn’t go in the pub but it seems that people were already streaming in even though it was still late afternoon, maybe there is an early bird special here.
