It was an easy walk from Merrion Park to Saint Stephen’s Green. There were signs along the way as well. I suppose Saint Stephen’s Green is large enough to find that people will surely run into it as long as they walk in the general direction of the park. Saint Stephen’s Green is Dublin’s premier park and not surprisingly, it is the most well known and most visited of the parks. A lot of tourists also make their way here to check out the sights, if any. Upon entry into the Saint Stephen’s Green ground, it was much like any other park. Off to the right I noticed that there was a large group of people and they seem to be quite excited.
It seems that there is a large group of swan which was just walking about the pond area. At least, I think they were swan. I have probably seen swan before but I could not distinguish them from geese. Geese have shorter necks, it seems. Anyway, the long necks these birds have suggest that they are swan. The swan were quite large and they didn’t seem to have any fear of humans. The swans do keep their distance from the curious camera-toting creatures. The swan also seems to don’t mind the other birds which share their territory, maybe they think they were too small to bother them. There was a pond in the park which probably explains why they decided to gather here. The humans provide food and there is calm water here.
