I was making my way out of Merrion Park and moving on to another site in Dublin. I was walking along a rather pretty street, named Merrion Street. I was wondering what is so special about this street that it looks to nice. When I looked to the right, I saw this very grand and obviously government building. It was actually nice and it blends well with the blue sky that was present that day. The layout of the place seems to be a square surrounded by buildings. One of the buildings in the back has a nice dome and it reminds me of the Capitol Building in the United States. This building is the Department of the Taoiseach.
The Taoiseach is the leader of the Republic of Ireland. It is analogous to the Prime Minister in other countries. No wonder this looked like a very important place. I didn’t get to see the Taoiseach when I was passed by, I’m sure he has more important things to do than wave. There seem to be tours offered to go around the building but it doesn’t seem to be open at that time. I would have loved to look around this magnificent building.
