Merrion Park is one of several green areas in an already green Dublin. What could be more green than that? Despite its size, Dublin has a few parks in its center – one of which is Merrion Park. I have been around Merrion Park and all I can say is that it is just a park, and there wasn’t anything special about it. It is nice to hang around here since there are less people compared to the other parks in the city. The center of the park itself isn’t very interesting either. There was a large grassy field where some plants in the middle.
I guess I was just spoiled with some of the parks which I have visited in other places. This didn’t really have much character in it and the only way you can tell it is an Irish park was that it had statues of famous Irish men. Maybe this is how western parks are. I need to visit more of them to know for sure. I guess it can be a pleasant place to be as long as the weather holds.
