Staying at the Annagh House was a good experience. Not only do I get to stay at a very beautiful house. I also get to see how Irish people live. The house was nice and toasty that I didn’t even need to wear sweaters inside. Even John of Annagh House was just wearing a t-shirt inside the house. It is actually quite liberating to be just wearing a shirt at home, something I haven’t done in a while since it was so cold for me. It doesn’t seem that the heating is on all the time probably only during the day time, at night it was just right.
The next day, I was greeted by a wonderful breakfast prepared by John. It was a full Irish breakfast, something your nutritionists would probably scorn at. It was made of bacon or ham, some sausages, egg and black pudding. Everything was pretty standard stuff except for the black pudding. I was told that it contains blood in it which gives it its dark color. While I am not against consuming blood, cooked of course, black pudding is still something that is an acquired taste. I can eat it but if given a choice, I’d rather skip it. With John watching as I ate breakfast, I had no choice but to eat the black pudding as well. Did I forget to mention that this was all done in what is probably the fanciest dining room I had ever been to which is not a house. I told John that if ever I would buy a house, I would pattern the interiors after this house.
