I decided that I had stayed long enough in the Saint Stephen’s Green Shopping Center, surely the rain must have stopped by now. Well, not really, but it was already good enough for me to continue walking around. I was in Dublin and Ireland, most prestigious shopping district, specifically, I was in Grafton Street. Somehow, when I was at O’Connell Street I had the impression that that was the premier shopping destination, as it turns out, it is a poor second to what Grafton Street is. Grafton Street isn’t a very long street but it is lined by numerous shops where you can either shop or just window shop like me. For me the stuff on sale here were too expensive, however, it is comforting to know that stuff that I have been looking for where here all along. Somehow they never penetrated all the way to county Donegal.
Grafton Street is a very nice shopping street, ironically this reminded me of the shopping streets which I had visited in various cities in China. If you were to ask me, Zhong Street in Harbin probably resembles this the most. Of course, I had it the other way around. The shopping streets in China were patterned after the classy and beautiful shopping streets of Europe, an example of which is Grafton Street. There were European style buildings on each side of the street and the street was naturally pedestrian only. I like walking on these kinds of streets, fortunately, the rain has died down and it is much easier to enjoy this shopping street.
