I was quite impressed with the architecture of the Four Courts Building which is along the River Liffey. I was about the cross the river to head on to the rest of the city center when my eye caught the sight of a nearby church. Churches here in Ireland have been quite impressive and I have been to a few of them. They usually are old and yet very well maintained. The nearby church was Saint Paul’s Church. Apparently, there were a few churches in the vicinity but I didn’t get to visit all of them. Maybe next time.
Anyway, for a church, the Saint Paul’s Church didn’t look a lot like a church. There were four huge Ionian columns in front which reminded me of western buildings such as the nearby Four Courts Building but not a church. Turns out, this was one is a Catholic Church but it had fences and they were closed, so I wasn’t able to have a look inside. There were three statues on top but I couldn’t see who they were. It is said that the church was built in 1837, so it is old enough. It is a pity I could not see what is inside.
