The Ha’penny Bridge was indeed a nice attraction here along the River Liffey. It seems that the local government makes sure to make these bridges pleasing to look at, after all Ha’penny Bridge is one of the top attractions of Dublin, though the city really doesn’t make money from it. The River Liffey is traversed by several bridges some of which I wasn’t able to visit anymore. I was actually making my way along the river banks and visiting anything that happens to be on the way. The next bridge after the Ha’penny Bridge is the Millennium bridge.
As you might guess from the name of the bridge. The Millennium Bridge was built near the start of the millennium, December 1999. However, rather disappointingly, at least for me, the design wasn’t really as futuristic looking as the name might imply. The Millennium Bridge is another pedestrian bridge and sports are rather subdued design. Probably to avoid taking the spot light from the nearby Ha’penny Bridge. Like its neighbor, the Millennium Bridge wasn’t very wide either but it serves its purpose to allow pedestrians to cross the River Liffey. There is a far more impressive Millennium Bridge and this one is in London. Hopefully, I would be able to visit it sometime.
