It was fun, making hay while the sun shines. We were lucky that the weather has been cooperating with us. It was already autumn and the skies were still clear. This gives us more chance to explore Ireland, before it becomes too cold to go outside. I’m still getting used to the much colder weather here in Ireland as it seems that my fat storage was not enough to insulate me from the cold. Anyway, this time around we would be heading south. So far, all of our trips in Donegal were all north of where we were. This time, we decided to head down to the county town of Donegal.
Donegal Town is the county town of county Donegal. Confused? It is something like the capital of a province or state except that this is for a county. Donegal town is a bit different. It is not the biggest city or town in its county and yet it is the county town. I guess it just happened that one of the towns in Donegal county grew much larger than Donegal town, that town happens to be Letterkenny. It is about an hour’s drive from Letterkenny to the town of Donegal. It is mostly through good national roads, though I wish that they would build proper highways for increased safety. I always have fears about drivers here and how they sometimes would do questionable things.
