Mushroom Growing on a Tree Trunk at the Ards Forest Park

The title might sound a little strange since there would definitely be plants in a forest, however, sometimes, it is interesting to look at this things since some of these species of plants I have never seen before. I am not an expert in botany so the best I can do it just appreciate the interesting plant life here. One thing I noticed even when we just entered the hike is that there seemed to be a lot of berries in here. As this is my first time in this kind of forest, I do not know if these are common. It was probably the first time I saw wild raspberry, at least I thought it was.

There is also what seems to be blueberry here, I’m sure that small mammals would have have a field day here since there was so much to eat here. I know, famous last words as I do not know if they are poisonous or not. There were also large groups of mushroom growing on tree trunks. These look quite attractive but you know that they primarily feed on decaying plant life. I don’t dare eat these as mushrooms have a reputation to be poisonous if you are not careful. I think I would be ok to eat them if I buy them from the supermart, just not raw here.
