It wasn’t really a very long trek to the top of the hill near Melmore Head. This is probably why I enjoyed the walk here. It wasn’t too long, it wasn’t too short either. I think if it is good enough for my friend to bring his kids to, it should be good enough for me. It was a climb of about 30 minutes since we were stopping frequently to take photos. We were lucky that the weather here was cooperating. The sun was intermittently peeking through the clouds, making for a nice but fast changing lighting. This is quite frustrating since I would have to keep remembering to change the setting for the camera each time the sun comes out or hides.
The summit of the hill features a mysterious pile of stones. I suspect that the pile of stones here were made in honor for a deceased person. I think I have seen these elsewhere but I can’t confirm if this was the case here. There was no name at the pile and we just respectfully left it alone. I suppose that if one were to be buried or wish to be remembered, it is great to be here where you can overlook the Atlantic. On the left of this place, you can see Horn Head on a good day. It is a nice place and the wind wasn’t terribly powerful here. However, there was more to this and the memorial, so we continue on.
