We were delighted visiting Lough Salt. The winds there were incredibly powerful, or rather that I wasn’t used to how powerful the winds there were. Maybe years of living in the city has made me take things like this for granted. We continued on our way to our destination. We were surprised to run into another lough in this area. The winds here weren’t that strong, I assumed because this place has a lower elevation that Loughs Salt and Greenan. This lough is lough Reelan.
The lough here is much smaller than the other two loughs. Though the road near the lough was a bit higher than Lough Salt, so we weren’t able to get closer to the water. Mountains were soaring above the lough and would have probably made a great backdrop if we were able to get down to the water. Perhaps if we were really determined, we could have actually gone near the water, however, there wasn’t an obvious path down to the lake. There were some paths in the nearby mountains which seem to imply there are alternative ways to the lough. I have to confirm this but we won’t be staying here long anyway. Lough Reelan is just as nice as the other two we have been too. It is great that we are able to visit these places that easily.
