It seemed to be taking us a bit of time to get to our destination at Glenveagh National Park. I kept getting told that it is just around this bend, and being told the same thing after that. I guess the path along Glenveagh is not really big on landmarks such that it is not easy to remember where things are. The biggest landmark here in this area seems to be the Lake at Glenveagh National Park itself. The lake itself isn’t huge and it doesn’t look too deep. It is a quite attractive as well since it is nestled at the foothills of nearby hills. There is a road which follows the shoreline, primarily for visitors who need to go by bus. For the rest of us, there is always self power.
It was quite unfortunate that the sky was overcast. It would have been a dream to see Glenveagh National Park with a blue sky, but such days seem to be rare in Ireland. I have to content myself with some moody shots of the lake, hopefully I would get lucky. The main walking path is further from the shore though, so you need to take care while going near the lake. I didn’t see a fish at the lake though, maybe it is just the weather that makes it difficult to see them.
