It was my first time in an Irish National Park and I didn’t really know what to expect here. Perhaps I was expecting a little more rugged experience based on what I was seeing in the photos. However, Glenveagh National Park, is a nicely done place. The terrain here is mostly gentle but you can choose your level so to speak. We had kids with us so we were taking an easier trail. When I say trail here, it is actually a pathway. The pathway is not cemented but rather a slightly rough road paved with small rocks. Still, the trail was not too bad. There is a very good trail, but that is actually a road, which closely follows the trail we are using. The road is primarily for the tourist buses which bring tourists in an out of the heart of the park.
The trail supposedly isn’t really a very long one however, we were spending a lot of time taking photos of the beautiful scenery that it was took us an hour to complete the trail. There weren’t a lot of people on the trail that afternoon but maybe that was just because of the weather. I was worried about my shoes since they aren’t really made to walk in this kind of surfaces. Oh well, I hope whatever at the end of this trail was worth to visit. I just wish that I would get some blue sky but then that might not be Ireland anymore.
