I guess I have somehow acquired the habit of visiting old towns ever since I started travelling abroad for leisure. I was fortunate enough to visit several historically and culturally important place, a lot of which were UNESCO World Heritage sites. I like visiting these old towns as they give you a picture of the world as it were centuries ago. This is probably one of the major reasons why I decided to transplant myself to Europe. I would be closer to these historically and culturally important heritage sites. Besides, you probably are sick of my posting photos of old Chinese towns.
Derry-Londonderry is unsurprisingly one of those old towns which are historically significant. The rest of Europe and even the rest of Ireland is still beyond my grasp as I still have to fully explore the surrounding area of Letterkenny. Fortunately, Derry-Londonderry provides a good jumping off point for the rest of Ireland. The requisite old world style buildings are all here and are wonderfully preserved. It is a photographer’s delight to see such things and I am making the most of this visit, not that it was that difficult to come here in the first place.
