Letterkenny is a tiny enough town that you can practically explore most of the interesting places within a few hours. I was already done with the two churches which were next to each other. The streets still need a little figuring out, but I did managed to find my way to one of the more significant parts of town. Along the way, I passed by some interesting buildings and thought they were significant because of their preserved architecture. The one I noticed was the Mount Southwell Terrace.
Mount Southwell Terrace features a building which has a Georgian architecture, for the architecture which was prevalent during the reigns of King George I to IV. I’m no expert in architecture but I know something is nice when I see one. The building here at Mount Soutwell Terrace has one of the better examples of Georgian style architecture in Letterkenny. The building seems to be occupied by F. Monaghan & company, which I understand is an insurance company. The building doesn’t have the squeaky clean style which is common in Singapore so it oozes a kind of charm I don’t see in the colonial era buildings there.
