Letterkenny is a sprawling town in northwestern Ireland and its recent growth has turned it into the county’s largest town, even larger than the capital or what they call the “county town”. Being a true blue Irish town, it has its own large Catholic church in the form of the Cathedral of Saint Eunan and Saint Columba. The church sports a Victorian Neo-Gothic design and has one of the country’s tallest spires. The inspiring design continues inside of the cathedral. The church is quite typical for this architectural style and it is also young being built only in the late 19th century.

I liked the design of the interiors of the cathedral as it reminded me a lot of the San Sebastian Church in Manila, although that one is much darker. To brighten up the church interiors, it is typical of these old churches to use stained glass windows. The stained glass windows normally depict the events in the Bible or just figures from Catholic history, normally saints are displayed on both sides of the church, while the front is reserved for the more important characters.
