This year has been a year of surprises and huge changes for me. In my latest surprise, I was transplanted from Singapore to the other side of the world, to the beautiful country of Ireland. I never thought in a million years that I would be ending up here. I was actually hoping to get a chance to live and work in Europe as there are numerous exploration opportunities there but for it to actually come true it something truly amazing to say the least. I took a very long cross continental trip from Singapore to the Irish capital of Dublin passing through the booming city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. It was a very tiring journey and I still had to deal with jetlag since I hardly slept a wink in the plane, no thanks to the cramped plane which I took.
I was looking forward to exploring this side of the world as well as earning some money while doing it. I guess I had enough of Chinese temples that I managed to find my way here. It is a long way from home and for the meantime, this will be home. The Dublin airport wasn’t as ultramodern as I thought it would be. The queue at immigration was quite long and they didn’t seem to have enough officers there. Anyway, I got through that and managed to get my bags quickly. I was in a blur of confusion since I wanted to purchase a sim card before I continued but I wasn’t able to find the shop I wanted. I had to transfer to Terminal one to get to the bus terminal. It wasn’t exactly very user friendly as there didn’t seem to be enough signs there and I overshot the bus stop by a lot. After which, I was on a bus 32 heading to the northwestern town of Letterkenny, Country Donegal in the wild northwestern part of Ireland. A new adventure awaits!
