Arrival at Pinagbuyutan Island

Steep Side of Pinagbuyutan Island

Pinagbuyutan Island is one of the larger islands we have visited. From a distance you can immediately see how large the island is. The karst dome shape of Pingbuyutan Island makes it distinctively unique. It was like a large piece of limestone was thrust out of the sea. The walls of the island as so steep I think it would be very difficult to climb all the way to the top. One the other hand, wall climbers would have a feast trying to climb this island.

As it is also in the Bacuit Archipelago, Pinagbuyutan Island also has its own white sand beach. It wasn’t as broad as the others as it tends to be in this area. There weren’t a lot of boats parked in this island as I suspect the other groups have moved to different islands in the latter part of the tour. The sky has also become more and more cloudy, making it more and more difficult to get good shots. I don’t really have the patience to wait until the sky becomes clearer. I won’t be going swimming yet as I would focus on taking photos. We still have one more place to visit, that is probably where I will finally take the plunge.
