We were heading to our second to the last destination in our tour of the Bacuit archipelago. It is truly a marvel how beautiful these islands are. These islands are like limestone jewels which rise out of the Bacuit bay just off the town of El Nido in Palawan. It is said that these islands here became the basis for the movie “The Beach” in the story, it set in Thailand. There is much to like about these islands and it still doesn’t seem to be over-touristed – at least not to Phuket levels yet. The islands here are quite close to each other so it is very easy to go island hopping. There was no need for the use of a speedboat to get from island to island, here, low tech is the only way and dare I say that this is the more enjoyable way.
Our next island is Pinagbuyutan Island, I have already caught a glimpse of this island when we were in Corong-corong taking sunset shots. Apparently, it was that huge island which was looming over the horizon to the left of the beach. Now that we were on the sea, it is likewise looming large as we were approaching it. Among the island which we have visited here in El Nido, this seem to be one of the larger ones. You can see how the karst soars so high in the air. It seems to be very steep that it is unlikely that people can get to the top, except for the very, very daring adventurer.
