Sundown at El Nido

We waiting half an hour for the sun to go down but it doesn’t seem to be promising. There were too many low lying clouds which obscure the last rays of the sun. To top it all, there was a piece of land which is blocking out view. I was thinking that the nearby island of Cadlao might be a good vantage point for a sunset photo. Maybe I could go there some time. As for us? I was getting restless while the others were still taking photos. I realized that out here numerous insects would be feasting on us. Already I was feeling them buzzing around.

I packed up very quickly and started pacing around, in an effort to avoid becoming a sitting duck for these insects but there were really a lot. I was wishing I had a long sleeved shirt just for this occasion. With night fast setting in, I was getting worried about having to head back to El Nido town in the dark. There won’t be any street lights here so either you bring a torchlight or be extremely careful when walking here. The ground is uneven here, if you fall here, you won’t be found until the next day.
